== Leadership == The American Enterprise Institute is governed by a Board of Trustees and led by a President. The organization’s leadership consists of prominent scholars, economists, and policy experts from a variety of disciplines. As of March 2025, the President of AEI is '''Robert Doar''', who took office in 2019. Doar is a well-known expert in poverty policy and welfare reform, having previously served as commissioner of the New York City Human Resources Administration. Under his leadership, AEI has continued to focus on advancing conservative economic policies, promoting free-market ideas, and providing practical solutions to pressing national issues.
